How Blogging Helps Internet Marketers Make Money

May 17th, 2010   |   Posted in SEO.

There is more to blogging than simply rambling on and on about yourself. More often than not, when you think about blogging, you will com to the same conclusion that most people come to; that they are only good for someone creating an online journal or trying to make it as an artist. Perez Hilton used the flexibility and marketing reach of blogging to catapult his career to the level of having his own show on the E network. The good news is that blogging can be fully utilized by marketers to reach a huge amount of new customers. Following are some of the best ways to leverage this extraordinary method that many marketers are letting slip between their fingers.

Blogging brings in more visitors than straight forward article marketing and other forms of promotion. As blogs are content based pages that should be updated on a regular basis, this can bring in far more visitors than you’d think. The point of updating content frequently is to bring an audience in who will keep coming back to read more of what you post. An article that links to your sales page might bring in a few one time visitors. However, a blog can build trust within your visitors so that they should end up buying the products you recommend.

Blogging is a great source of lots of different types of income. As your blog grows in popularity you can sell advertising space on your sidebars for top dollar. You’ve probably heard of Google Adsense. That’s one of the many advertising services available to bloggers. There are plenty of others all wanting to grab your blog visitors’ attention. Text Link Ads is one. AdBrite is another. You might even consider selling directly to individual advertisers as well. If you were to sell six ad spaces on your blog at $50 a month each, that’s a $300 increase in income from your blog.

Blogging lets you have conversations with your visitors. Visitors can’t leave feedback for you on a static sales page. People can leave comments on your blog posts, or you can install a contact form for visitors to get in touch with you about your products. You can actually begin to develop new products based on the feedback, opinions and comments you receive. Readers take notice of bloggers who are active participants in their comments section, as it lets them know you care about their opinions and not just their wallets.

There are so many reasons that internet marketers need to blog. Blogging makes more sales. It helps you build business relationships. And not to mention the thrill that blogging can be. There is no limits and restrictions to blogging; be yourself, you can recreate yourself, or you can be informal with no personality at all. Now, you are starting to realize just how powerful of a leveraging tool blogging can be. There is always something that is so versatile and powerful that people just don’t take advantage of; blogging is one of them.
